Marc Márquez points to Dani Pedrosa as his mentor in MotoGP: "I tried to ride like him, but stronger and more aggressive."

Marc Márquez made his MotoGP debut in 2013, surrounded by some of the greatest legends in the history of motorcycling: Valentino Rossi, Jorge Lorenzo... but his great mentor was his teammate on the official Honda until the end of the 2018 season, Dani Pedrosa .
This is what Marc Márquez stated in a recent interview with Dazn , in which he made very clear the importance that the number '26' had in his sporting career: "I learned a lot from him, because he was my teammate. He is the one who taught me the most about how to ride a MotoGP."
Márquez won the World Championship as a rookie, at just 20 years old, and despite his immense talent, from the outset he tried to learn from his more experienced garage neighbor, third in that 2013 season: "I tried to ride like him, but with more strength and a little more aggressively," explained the '93'.
But Pedrosa wasn't the only inspiration for the Cervera native: "I've learned to manage races the way Valentino managed them, to try to do the hammer mode like Lorenzo did, but you can't copy a rival, you have to try to get close to their strengths, but ride in your own way ," said Marc Márquez.
